MEXICO- Finca chelin

Coffee from Mexico this season is through a direct trade relationship with Producer Enrique Lopez of Finca Chelin in Oaxaca, Mexico. This coffee will be featured in our first Limited Black Bag release, with 10% of sales going to a local non-profit here in Southern Vermont. We first communicated with Enrique over social media and bonded over our shared ideals regarding coffee. We are so very honored and excited to offer some of Enrique’s coffee to you, as we are the only U.S. location to receive his coffee this year. The demand for his quality coffees is so high, he rarely needs to export his coffees outside of Mexico. However we were able to secure two bags of green coffee from him, which made it to the New Jersey port after hitching a ride on a container of coffee from our friends at Osito. Bringing coffee to you is a group effort- and we can’t wait to share this one with you.

Costa Rica- Chirripó

Coffee from Costa Rica this season is through a direct trade relationship with the Ureña Rojas Family and processed at Café Rivense del Chirripó.  After finding each other through social media, Ricardo sent us samples of their beautiful honey-processed coffee and the rest is history. We are even more excited about this partnership because we have personally visited Rivas in the Chirripó Region and were mesmerized by the stunning mountains and terrain. We hope you love this coffee as much as we do.

El Salvador- El Mural

Our single-origin coffee from El Salvador this season is through cooperation with our Certified B Corp importer Caravela, from the Chalatenango department of the country. This coffee was produced by a small-scale group from La Palma and Citala, two areas that are part of the Montecristo Trifinio, a tri-border national park that is shared between El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. This area, which was designated as a biosphere reserve in 2011, contains incredibly rich bio-diversity. This coffee is a blend of beans from both these areas and is the result of an almost decade-old relationship between Caravela and these producers.
